ASIA ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIP
Broc Parkes has claimed his third win of the ASB1000 season by taking out race two of round five at China’s Zhuhai International Circuit.
After finishing fourth in race one, the Yamaha Racing Team rider ASEAN saluted in race two ahead of Malaysians Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi and Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman.
The 37-year-old New South Welshman’s latest win puts him 35 points clear at the top of the ASB1000 ladder, with 188 points to his name heading into round six at Sepang.
Remy Gardner has frustratingly crashed out at the Austrian GP within reach of his maiden win in the class.
With just eight laps remaining, the ONEXOX TKKR SAG Team rider clipped the rear of Championship leader Alex Marquez, forcing the 21-year-old from his bike and leaving him prone on the Red Bull Ring track as competitor’s whizzed past him.
With two third placings under his belt in 2019, Gardner sits 12th in the rider standings.
Josh Hook has had a solid finish to round two of FIM MotoE World Cup, climbing from 14th on the grid to finish seventh in wet conditions.
While the OCTO Pramac MotoE rider acknowledges he has some work to do, it was an encouraging performance from the Taree native in the discipline’s inaugural season.
Red Bull Rookies Cup
Billy van Eerde has had an impressive weekend in the rookie class in Austria, grabbing two podium finishes in round five.
After agonisingly finishing second in a photo finish in race one, the 17-year-old Singleton product continued to show his class with third place in race two.
van Eerde now sits 11th in the rider standings with 47 points.
