Motorcycling Australia (MA) is saddened to hear the passing of Peter Nelson, a much respected official and race secretary who passed away after a long battle with lung tumours. Peter was well known throughout the motorsport industry and should be recognised for his 45 years of service and his passion for four-wheel and two-wheel motorsport.
Peter was regarded as one of the premier administrators for international motorsport and was renowned as being responsible for the planning and organisation behind the success that is the Formula One, MotoGP and the World Superbike Championship.
MA would like to acknowledge his long-term involvement and contribution to the race organising committee’s (ROC) for international motorcycling events.
Motorcycling Australia and the entire Motorcycle Sport community extends its sincere condolences to Peter’s family and friends at this time.
