MotoStars are pleased to advise that the final round of the Australian Supermoto Championship (ASMC) and Australian Junior Road Racing Championship (AJRC) will take place at the Whitsunday Moto Sports Club in Proserpine, QLD on the 23rd/24th of November.
MotoStars will also provide interested competitors with hands-on training and mentoring on Friday the 22nd of November, developing all areas of the racing profession, from riding, fitness training and race weekend mental approach.
The opening round of the 2019 series was originally planned for QLD, however with local restrictions impeding proceedings, the event was switched to Port Macquarie in NSW. This meant MotoStars needed a new venue for the final round of the year, and spent considerable time evaluating options to ensure the best venue could be acquired.
The Whitsundays Moto Sports Club is a proactive organisation that loves motorcycle racing and welcomed the opportunity to host MotoStars and the ASMC/ AJRC.
“The WMSC is excited to once again be holding a round of the Australian Championship at the Whitsunday Raceway. We congratulate MotoStars on holding two excellent rounds of racing at Port Macquarie and Tailem Bend and we cannot wait for the final round in Proserpine. Whitsunday Raceway is one of the few tracks in Queensland that was purpose built for karts and motorcycles. The bitumen track is 1.1klms long with a dirt section of 300m including several jumps and bends- perfect for Supermoto. Personally I can’t wait to see how the Pro 450 showdown ends with local legend Andy McLiesh currently tied for first with WA star Damon Gibbons. I encourage all riders, spectators, and lovers of motorsports to get behind this round; it’s going to be huge.” Brett Campbell – WMSC secretary.
MotoStars with the assistance of Banhams WA is now working on transport options for competitors located great distances from the event, like Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales- details of which will be released soon.
As is tradition with the MotoStars Series, the final event will also host the end of year party and presentation where all competitors and crew are invited to celebrate its champions and enjoy a fantastic evening among friends.
“The idea for this event is to create an end of year holiday experience.” MotoStars Director Damian Cudlin explained. “It’s an absolutely beautiful part of the world with some of the best hotels, camp sites and holiday activities you can imagine. We want families and competitors to make a trip of it, enjoy our event, and end the year with a great party! I think this could be the highlight race meeting of the year.”
