Motorcycling Australia (MA) has announced that Wild Card applications for the Australian Round of the 2019 Motul FIM World Superbike Championship, Yamaha Finance round (WSBK) are now open. Opportunities are available for two Australian riders in the World Superbike class (WorldSBK) and two Australian riders in World Supersport class (WorldSSP).
Capitalising on a Wild Card opportunity provides a great platform for Australian riders to show their race craft and capabilities to an international stage, on a home circuit!
The opening round of the WSBK will land on Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit next February 22nd-24th, so you still have plenty of time to get yourself ready for one amazing opportunity.
New for 2019, the WorldSBK class will be holding three action packed races over the event weekend. A sprint race is to be added on Sunday morning, in addition to the two full-length races held on Saturday and Sunday. The WorldSSP will be staying in the same format as previous years.
The application is available here and can be submitted by returning the completed form to Motorcycling Australia’s Road Race Events Organiser Liz Galazkiewicz on the details below. To be successful, applicants must meet the Wild Card selection criteria, which can be found on the application form.
Applications close on Friday, 7 December 2018.
Applicants are advised that there is a substantial cost involved when applying for a FIM Wild Card. All enquiries and completed forms should be sent to:
