Helmets and Helmet Use
Motorcycling Australia supports and encourages the use of helmets for all motorcycle activities.Motorcycling Australia supports the removal of GST and all other taxes on Standards approved motorcycle helmets. We believe this will reduce the price of helmets
Motorcycling Australia supports the acceptance of all equivalent helmet Standards from other jurisdictions by legislative and enforcement authorities. We believe this will reduce the price of helmets.
Motorcycling Australia supports the prosecution of any person or organisation importing, selling or using helmets which do not meet recognised Standards. Motorcycling Australia supports the prosecution of any person or organisation importing, manufacturing or selling labels which are intended to mislead as to compliance of any helmet with a Standard.
Motorcycling Australia supports on-going research into safer, more effective and cheaper helmet design and manufacture.
Protective Clothing
Motorcycling Australia supports and encourages the use of personal protective clothing for all motorcycle activities.Motorcycling Australia supports enforcement and registration authorities which act to encourage the use of protective equipment by motorcyclists. Motorcycling Australia does not support the mandatory imposition of the use of protective clothing.
Motorcycling Australia supports the removal of GST and all other taxes on CE Standards approved protective clothing. We believe this will reduce the price of protective clothing.
Motorcycling Australia supports the adoption of the CE standards for impact protection, back protectors, protective clothing, protective footwear and stone and debris shields by all manufacturers.
Motorcycling Australia supports the prosecution of any person or organisation importing or selling protective clothing which purports to meet any Standard but does not. Motorcycling Australia supports the prosecution of any person or organisation importing, manufacturing or selling labels which are intended to mislead as to compliance of any protective equipment with a Standard.

Motorcycle Design- ABS, Traction Control & Airbags
Motorcycling Australia supports the use of technology and design which makes the use of motorcycles safer, without interfering with the enjoyment or practicality of the motorcycle.Motorcycling Australia supports the on-going development and research into systems which make motorcycles safer.
Motorcycling Australia calls for registration and legislative authorities to pay for or undertake real world research and testing as to the effectiveness of such technology in making motorcycling safer.
