Queensland junior shines interstate
November 14, 2007

Thirteen year-old Gold Coast regular Nick Morris was a last minute entrant in last Saturday night's (10 November) South Australian Junior Speedway Championship and snatched second place.

The keen-as-mustard youngster spent two days driving down to Adelaide's Sidewinders track, arriving shortly before the meeting, then two days driving home again, all for 4 minutes of actual racing time.

But they were four valuable minutes in terms of both experience and reward as the locals are no easy competitors on their home track.

Winner of the 16 rider event was local Justin Sedgman, with Robert Branford third and Robert Medson fourth - all names which were part of the Australian Under 16 Championships held at Gold Coast last January.

Nick is looking forward to the middle of next year when he turns fourteen and can step up to 350cc racing on the big track.
