New Rule after Change:
Use of Non-OEM Parts
10.18.8.1 section a)
10.19.8.1 section a)
10.21.4.1 section e)
The following may be replaced with parts not manufactured by the manufacturer of the machine:

  1. Brake pads, linings, brake hoses, and brake discs. Front and rear brake discs may be replaced with aftermarket brake discs that must fit the original OEM caliper and wheel mounting. The outer most diameter and material must remain the same as OEM for the model.

Rationale:
We are removing the words “and the ventilation system” as some competitors are confusing this with the outer shape of the disc and also confusing diameter with circumference. There are aftermarket discs available that offer differing outer shape, but the same outer diameter as OEM. Wave discs are one example of this.
These aftermarket discs are becoming more readily available, and at a very competitive price to OEM discs - in most cases cheaper than an OEM disc.
