After strong debut season in the IDM German Superbike Championship and another consistent campaign in the FIM Endurance World Championship, Cudlin has been rewarded with a starting ride on the Ducati of the Pramac Racing Team.
Capirossi, a winner of nine MotoGP races in a distinguished career, dislocated his right shoulder in a crash suffered at the recent Aragon MotoGP in Spain.
Cudlin has followed up his successful 2010, which saw him take out the IDM German Supersport Championship and guide his team to a podium in the FIM Endurance World Championship, with an ultra-consistent 2011 campaign.
A fourth in his debut German SBK season was highlighted by a host of top five finishes and three podiums, missing out on a third by just four points to fellow Aussie Karl Muggeridge.
This will not be the talented Aussieís first taste of the MotoGP scene, having made his debut in the Moto 2 class at last yearís German MotoGP.
Cudlin will team up in the Pramac sheds with French rider Randy De Puniet.
