holder/promoter and organiser of 2) How long have you been in the role for? Almost 3 years. 3) What is the best thing about being in your position? Helping the juniors develop their Road Racing skills in a nurturing environment and to be able to offer them international opportunities. 4) What is your favourite thing about the sport? Social development, and watching the juniors compete and seeing their progression. 5) What do you like to do when you are not at work? I love to socialise and watch the MotoGP and World Superbikes, and do the gardening when I get the chance, 6) If you could invite any three guests to dinner, who would they be? Alvaro Bautista (who I would leave my husband for), Sean Connery (who I would leave my husband for), and Freddie Mercury (if he was still alive) to perform a few songs after dinner. 7) What can't you live without? Achieving, work, racing, being around people, talking, stress and coffee. 8) What's your favourite book? I am currently in the process of writing a novel called Politics in Motorsport (only joking). When I do get time to read, any novel by Stephen King who is brilliant. 9) What is your ultimate sporting fantasy? To see one of our Aussie Metrakit Juniors achieving their goal of becoming a World Champion. 10) What is something that these readers may not know about you? I own a Business, Viperformance, which converts and compliances Dodge Vipers. In my younger days, I used to work in publishing at BRW with David Koch and Ross Greenwood and I assisted the Editor in setting up a publishing company (Beaumont Media Services). I have been with my husband for 28 years and I grew up in Broadmeadows. Metrakit junior road racing was introduced in Australia due to my son Nicky Diles who back then at the age of 12 along with others, wanted to go road racing but wasn’t old enough. |
